James Irwin has been involved in the Colorado Boys' High School Volleyball Association for around 11 years now.  The team's most successful stretch began in 2011 when the Jags were 3A State Runner-Up.  This began a 5 year run where the Jags made the State Finals day (final 8), culminating in a 3A State Championship in 2013 over TCA.

Athletic Director, Mike Prusinowski, took over as head coach  of the team in 2011 after 10+ years of coaching girls in Delaware and Kentucky where he taught and coached before coming to James Irwin in the Fall of 2009.  He also finished his 6th year as the girls' head coach this past Fall.
